Every summary on this site is written in our own words and is based on reporting by other news organizations, public records and official statements. Each story ends with The receipts, which names the outlet and, where available, the reporter, and links to the original article. Credit for the reporting belongs to them. We keep direct quotations short and encourage you to read the originals.
Where a fact-checking organization or primary document exists, we link it under Check it yourself. Where the administration or the people involved have responded, we include their position under The other side.
