As the Pentagon spends big on drones, Trump's sons invest in drone makers, and one lands a military deal
Eric and Don Jr. backed a drone company that signed a weapons deal with the U.S. military weeks later, awarded quickly amid the Iran conflict.
Bloomberg reported in March 2026 that Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. were behind a $750 million push into drone manufacturing, as their father's administration made drones a defense priority. One of their companies, Powerus, signed a deal at the end of April to supply drones to the U.S. military. The number of drones and the contract value were not disclosed.
The award came during the conflict with Iran, with the administration citing the urgent need to rebuild weapons stockpiles; critics described it as a no-bid deal. The sons have also invested in other firms with defense work, including Unusual Machines, Firehawk Aerospace and Foundation Future Industries, where Eric Trump is chief strategy adviser, according to a letter from House Oversight Democrats asking the Pentagon inspector general to investigate. The Washington Post reported in August that lawmakers were pressing for that probe.
